A Battle Creek teen is in custody Monday morning, after he allegedly broke into a business.

Battle Creek Police Officers responded to an alarm, at the Dollar General in the 500 block of Capital Ave SW around 2am Monday. Police saw a suspect running from the scene, and quickly arrested him. The 17-year-old male was identified as responsible for smashing the front door of the business and going inside, presumably to rob it.

The teen is lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on a charge of Breaking and Entering.
