A man from Tekonsha has been arrested following a brief chase on Monday.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Homer for an equipment violation; the driver failed to stop, leading to a brief pursuit. Eventually the vehicle did stop, however, and the 54-year-old driver from Tekonsha was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.

The CCSO was helped out by the Albion Department of Public Safety, as well as an off duty Corrections officer from the Michigan Department of Corrections.

The name of the suspect is being withheld until he is arraigned.
