WLWT in Cincinnati is reporting about a 6 year old playing Power Rangers at recess in the playground, he pretends to shoot (oh boy you can see the trouble coming) another student with an imaginary bow and arrow.  Can you guess what happens to him next?

He is suspended for three days.

Now I understand the pc hypersensitive environment we are in, but it was IMAGINARY.  Boys will be boys, is that just too un-pc to say?  Am I just a Neanderthal?

His mother is quoted in the article saying “I think he's a good principal. I just think a bad decision was made”.

The principal is quoted in the article stating "I have no tolerance for any real, pretend, or imitated violence. The punishment is an out of school suspension."

I love the mother’s response: "I can't stop him from pretending to be a super hero. I can't stop him from playing ninja turtles. I can't stop him from doing these things and I don't think it would be healthy to do so, his imagination can go limitless places. We try to encourage that as parents”.

Then I read an article from Fox News in Tampa Florida reporting on an eighth-grader girl who received detention for hugging friends before school.

She is quoted in the article stating “I just like hugged them. It was literally for a second”.

Apparently her school district bans “inappropriate touching”, and it is up to each principal to determine what is “inappropriate touching” at their school.  Her school banned hugging this year.

Her mother response was “I do not feel that this ‘no hugging, holding hands, arm-linking’ would be considered inappropriate touching”.

Do you?

Her mother is also quoted in the article: “I did ask the principal, if something happened in our family, and she needed to console her cousin or her cousin wanted to console her, would she get in trouble? She said, ‘Yes, ma’am. She would get a PDA,”

Now it gets weird.

WLS out of Palatine Illinois is reporting that the federal government is mandating that a Chicago High School must allow a male teenager full access to the girls locker room.  That means he must be allowed to take showers with the female students at the school if he wants to.

Yes you heard that right and you probably have figured out by now that it has to do with a transgender issue.  Apparently this male teenager has believed for years he is a female.

The Superintendent has said they that have made several accommodations for the student including "changing names as requested, changing gender records, also provide access to bathrooms identified as gender”.  They drew the line at full access to the girl’s locker room.

Apparently this teenager thought it was too much for him to go down a “long hallway” to the other bathroom.

How odd does it seem to be getting out there?  I just wrote a blog the other day titled “What’s Going On”, how apropos that this came up two days later.

I guess this piece speaks for itself so I will state no more.
