Ludington draws a crowd of thousands to make a world record attempt.

Pure Michigan ice cream headache?

Citizens of Ludington and ice cream fans from all around the state of Michigan screamed for ice cream on Saturday, June 11 as House of Flavors hosted an event designed to break the Guinness Book of World Records' mark for longest ice cream dessert.

The previous record of almost 2,000 feet is held by a small town in Auckland, New Zeeland.

Was nearly 13,000 scoops if ice cream, 2,000 maraschino cherries and 600 cans of whipped cream enough? Guinness needs 5-8 weeks for documentation and verification but the city believes they've done it.
