A man from Three Rivers trimming trees was killed earlier this week after a 50-foot fall in Kalamazoo.

MLive reports that 49-year-old Ronald Phillips was in a bucket truck in the 16,000 block of Waters Edge Dr. in Schoolcraft Township, trimming a tree limb, when the limb broke off and hit the bucket.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Investigators say that Phillips wasn’t wearing a harness when he fell, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

This event happened just a couple of weeks after a Lawton man was seriously injured after falling from a tree in Kalamazoo, September 21. The 75-year-old had been trimming trees in the 1000 block of Royce St, when he fell around 35 feet.  The man was found unresponsive at the scene and taken to the hospital.
