The Gull Lake Blue Devils Girls Soccer team has been in the same place at the end of the year the last two seasons, but this year was much more of a challenge. After playing scoreless through two halves of regulation and two more overtime periods, the Devils needed a shootout with the Fenton Tigers to win 1-0 in the Division 2 State Final.

The shootout, which normally goes five shot aside, only went four as the Devils scored on all their chances. Junior Regan Troff stopped two of three shots she faced in the shootout and all five shots in regulation and overtime.

It's the third straight championship for Gull Lake and fourth overall in Girls Soccer, following their Class B title in 1992.

The Blue Devils end the season with a 25-1-1 record in Head Coach Jeff Corstange's fourth season.

From one Blue Devil (me) to the three-time champs and fellow classmate Jeff, congratulations and "Go Devils"!
