An early morning crash that injured three people in Calhoun County is under investigation.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that they were called to A Dr. N near 14 mile Rd. in Marshall Township around 2:30am Monday, September 11 to find that a sedan and pickup truck had collided head-on. The sedan was on fire, and a 19-year-old passenger from Marshall was trapped inside. The fire was put out and the man was extricated, and he was transported to Borgess Kalamazoo with “severe lower extremity injuries”.

The 19-year-old driver of the sedan was taken to Oaklawn Hospital for treatment of a possible shoulder injury, while the 46-year-old driver of the truck from Ceresco possibly suffered injuries to his neck and leg.

The Accident Reconstruction Division is now looking into this crash, with the sheriff’s office saying alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been involved.
