The skies were gloomy in Detroit, as well as the spirits of Tiger fans after their 12-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins, Thursday evening.

The Tigers were first on the board when Jeimer Candelario doubled to left-field, bringing Jose Iglesias in to score, 1-0. The Twins came back with a vengeance, scoring three runs in the 4th off from Jordan Zimmerman, making it a 3-1 game.

Minnesota edged the score to 4-1 in the 5th, with a hit off from Blaine Hardy. They continued the rally in the 6th inning with three more runs off of Victor Alcantara, pushing the score to 7-1.

The 7th inning stretch arrived after the Twins stretched the lead to 8-1. The score continued to climb as the Twins scored four more runs in the 8th, 12-1.

The Tigers failed to add any runs in the 9th and lost the game to the Twins at 12-1.

The two teams face each other in game two, Friday evening. Coverage begins approximately 9:30 PM, following high school football on 95.3 WBCK.
