Pitching continues to plague the Detroit Tigers as they fell to the New York Yankees,10-2, in Wednesday evening’s game.

New York scored off Jordan Zimmerman in the 1st inning as Gary Sanchez homered in the opening frame for the second straight night.  Sanchez had two hits and drove in three runs in his second game batting third in the lineup.  The Yankees continued to score throughout  the night. It wasn’t until the 6th inning that the Tigers got on the board with a homer by Ian Kinsler, making it a 6-1 game.

Jose Iglesias added a homer in the 9th, end the scoring.

Zimmermann went five innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits and saw his earned-run-average soar to 6.11.  His record is now 7-11 on the season.

The two teams face each other again, Thursday afternoon at 12:45 PM on 95.3 WBCK.  Michael Fulmer is scheduled to start for the Tigers.
