After a trip home from Texas and an off-day, the Tigers returned to Comerica Park, Friday evening, to face the Dodgers in game one of a three game series, ending the night losing 9-5.

Rich Hill took the mound for the Dodgers. The Tigers started the 1st inning with Kinsler and Upton scoring and putting the first marks on the board at 2-0. The Dodgers came back with a vengeance, scoring four runs in the 2nd, off from Jordan Zimmerman, making it a 4-2 game.

Justin Upton crossed the plate again, in the 3rd, on a homer to left-field and inching the score to 4-3. The Dodgers continued to score in the 4th, bringing two runs across the plate and pushing the score to 6-3.

The Dodgers scored again in the 6th inning and the Tigers responded with a run of their own, bringing the score to 7-4.

It was in the 9th, when the Dodgers scored another run, Upton hit a homer and Castellanos singled to center, bringing the tying run to the plate. But good fortune was not with Detroit as they lost to the Dodgers 8-5.

The two teams face each other again Saturday at 3:40 PM on 95.3 WBCK.
