A state of disaster has been declared in the Upper Peninsula. According to the Associated Press, Governor Snyder made the declaration on Friday, after a tornado hit Gobegic County, causing flooding and significant damage. An order by the governor has also activated the Michigan National Guard to assist response and recovery efforts. Late Monday and early Tuesday, severe storms moved through the region.
