A single vehicle crash late this morning resulted in the death of a passenger and injuring two others from the central part of Michigan.

Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies responded to southbound I-69 just south of the Marshall exit just before Noon. Authorities say a vehicle heading south left the roadway and into the median, where it hit a berm and crashed after going airborne.

A passenger, an 82-year-old Canadian Lakes woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 72-year-old man driving and a 61-year old woman, also from Canadian Lakes, were taken to Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall for treatment.

Investigators believe the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
