An ice cream truck was crushed by a large tree, in Kalamazoo Saturday afternoon, pinning the driver between the roof and the floor.

The driver of the truck was in the rear of the truck, getting ice cream from a cooler for two young girls who were standing on the passenger side of the vehicle. Strong wind caused a large tree to fall, pinning the driver inside and knocking the girls to the ground. He managed to free himself and was assisted out of the passenger window.

Kalamazoo police arrived on the scene, in the neighborhood of Springmont and Barnard and found the crushed truck and power lines down, knocking out power to homes in the area. The driver and girls received minor injuries.
