Michigan State Police troopers went beyond the call of duty Thursday, in Royal Oak Township, when they were dispatched to aid a skunk in distress.

According to the Associated Press, when they arrived on the scene, they observed the skunk walking in circles in the center of the street with a yogurt container stuck on its head.

In a statement released by the MSP, the skunk was spraying everything. As this was going on, one trooper used a wooden pole to distract the critter, while a second trooper snuck in and grabbed the container from the animals head.

Both troopers managed to escape the incident, free of odor.
