Two Arrested in Springfield Hit and Run

Sheriff’s Deputies say they made two arrests following a hit and run crash in Springfield Monday.  Investigators say the crash happened at around 10:20 in the morning at the intersection of Goguac and 21^st Street.  Deputies say a Springfield man was driving recklessly and crashed into an oncoming car driven by a 64-year-old woman.  The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.  Deputies say the at-fault driver ran away and hid in a basement while a woman who had been in the car with him gave investigators a false identity for the driver.  The man was found in the basement on 21^st Street and arrested and the woman was taken to the County Jail for furnishing false information to law enforcement.
