The Battle Creek Bombers are getting ready for the 2014 Northwoods League season, and will bring back two of their star hurlers from last season. The Bomb Squad have brought back Indiana State University junior David Stagg and Toledo University sophomore Kyle Slack.

Stagg will begin his first year with the Indiana State Sycamores, after spending his first two collegiate seasons with Heartland Community College. The Des Moines, Iowa native went 2-3 with 2.71 ERA in nine appearances (eight starts) with the Bombers last season. He allowed 41 hits in 46 1/3 innings, walked 18 and struck out 52.

Slack will play close to home for the second straight season, as the Edwardsburg native gets ready for his second season with the Toledo Rockets. Slack went 0-3 in 10 starts for the Bombers, allowing 45 hits in 40 2/3 innings with a 6.86 ERA. The hard-throwing 6'8" righty also was a part of the Northwoods League's first-ever Big League Dream Showcase last season.
