Two Chicago Men Arrested For Counterfeit Bills In Portage
Two Chicago men are in jail in Kalamazoo County, accused of using counterfeit money to buy electronics.
Portage Department of Public Safety officers responded to the Walmart on Shaver Road around 9:45pm Thursday, with reports of 4 Chicago men using fake 10 and 20 dollar bills. Two of the suspects, aged 26 and 27, were arrested after a short chase while a third, aged 18, was not charged and released.
The fourth suspect escaped, and reportedly stole a car around 1 A.M. Friday. The 16-year-old suspect was found with the stolen car around Joilet, Illinois and was arrested.
The investigation continues.
