Authorities in Kalamazoo County are investigating two separate hit and run accidents that left two people dead last week.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's office responded to a deadly hit and run crash involving a pedestrian Saturday evening. WWMT reports a man in his 40s was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was walking on 9th Street near Flesher Field in Oshtemo Township at around 11:00pm. The suspect drove off in what is described as a black vehicle believed to have a missing side mirror and broken headlight on the passenger side. The victim's name has not been released.

Meanwhile, Kalamazoo Township police are still looking for a suspect in a fatal hit and run crash that happened in Kalamazoo Township last Wednesday night. 40-year-old Noah Michaels was walking in the 2200 block of Gull Road near Borgess Hospital at around 6:00pm when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say a lack of witnesses has hampered their efforts to provide a description of the suspect or their vehicle, other than it likely has significant damage to the front end.

Both fatal crashes remain under investigation. Anyone with information on either case is asked to contact local authorities.
