The Battle Creek Bombers have signed a couple of players with Battle Creek ties.   Gavin Homer played at Lakeview High School, and is about to start playing college baseball at McHenry County College. The 5'9" 165 pound Homer was a two-sport athlete at Lakeview and played summer baseball with the HBF Maroons.

"Gavin is a very athletic player that can play really anywhere on the field for us. He is primarily an infielder  but might see some time in the outfield for us as well,” said Solemsaas. “Everyone I've talked to really likes how he plays and the way he carries himself on and off the field. It will be great to have him back in Battle Creek and for him to play in front of his friends and family."

The Bombers have also signed  KCC infielder Bailey Peterson.

The 6 foot 185 pounder is a freshman for the Bruins, where he's hitting .400 through 12 games.   He's form Grandville.

"It's very exciting for us to have two well-deserving players on our roster with close, personal ties to the city
of Battle Creek,” said Tony Iovieno, general manager of the Bombers. “I'm sure our fans will be rooting
extra hard for them both to succeed here in the prestigious Northwoods League."
