A study requested by Governor Snyder,  into the cost of connecting Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to Canada, or drawing more power from the Lower Peninsula shows the cost would be more than it’s worth. According to the Associated Press, a study of alternatives for generating more power to the Eastern U.P. has found that it would be more cost-effective to build a new gas plant, near Pine River.
