The United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region kicked off its major annual fundraising campaign this week. The effort seeks to raise $13,000,000 to be funneled through various United Way approved non-profits in southwest Michigan, with a particular focus on education and other programs.

Chris Sargent, United Way chief operating officer explained it in the WBCK studio Monday, along with the campaign chair for Calhoun County Derek King.
