Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of an unresponsive driver, parked at the intersection of Harmony Lane and Sundown Street, around 11:25 AM Friday morning, in Springfield.

Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle, with two wheels off the curb, still running. When they attempted to gain the driver’s attention, the driver responded by jamming the car into reverse and then driving westbound on Harmony, striking a snow bank in front of the Valley View Elementary School, becoming stuck. The driver then attempted to remove the car, but deputies bashed-out the side window and removed the offender. A strong smell of marijuana emerged and Crown Royal containers were discovered along with a small amount of marijuana.

The driver admitted to drinking the night before and was lodged into the Calhoun County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated and Parole Violation.
