Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies and the Battle Creek Police Bomb Squad were able to dispose of a large amount of dynamite in Convis Township yesterday. The initial call was made Wednesday evening by someone looking for help after finding unused explosives in an outbuilding on 17 Mile Road belonging to a relative who had recently passed away. Deputies were initially told there was thought to be around 20 sticks of dynamite, but it turned out to be 256 sticks of dynamite. All the dynamite was taken from the outbuilding and destroyed by the bomb squad.
