For American League pitchers in Interleague play to be on, they deliver on the mound and at the plate. The Detroit Tigers received that from Justin Verlander Wednesday, pitching six innings and driving in his first career RBI in a 6-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Verlander allowed a run on three hits on the afternoon, striking out nine. He also picked up the win, moving to 10-8 on the season. At the plate, he went 1-for-3 and drove in this first run of the contest.

Nicholas Castellanos wrapped up a stellar three-game series in Denver, going 3-for-5 and hitting a solo shot, his 19th homer of the season. He went 7-for-13 during the series, driving in four runs. James McCann knocked in three runs in the finale on his 13th homer of the season.

The Tigers enter a four-game weekend series beginning Friday with a day-night doubleheader with the Cleveland Indians. The Tribe will be making their way to Detroit following a doubleheader with the New York Yankees Wednesday. Catch both games on 95.3 WBCK Friday at 12:45pm and 6:45pm!
