The Village of Vicksburg has removed their clerk from office, after several financial discrepancies were discovered.

MLive reports that at their meeting Monday, the village council voted unanimously to remove Theresa Paddock from office after just over a year. The council says that there were errors with payroll and issues with payments to banks and vendors, along with other issues. The problem was only raised in August when the village attempted to get a credit card, and the bank turned them down due to financial issues.

Paddock disagrees with her termination, and says that the mistakes were made because she was new to the job, and when she asked for help she says she was denied.  The village, located in Kalamazoo County, is now searching for a temporary clerk until the position can be filled once again.
