Was President-Elect Surveilled?
Well, well, well, a new report from CNN claims that former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was wiretapped under secret court order before and while he was President Trump’s campaign manager.
Well it certainly would strengthen President Trump’s claim last March when he stated that he was surveilled under the previous administration.
The CNN report said the surveillance of Manafort continued into early 2017, covering the period before and after the November presidential election. This reportedly covered a stretch when Manafort was known to obviously speak with President Trump, though it is still unclear whether President Trump’s discussions were ever picked up by the surveillance team.
Also unclear is where the wiretapping occurred at Manafort residence in Trump Tower, as well as a home in Alexandria, Va.
Remember the endless wiretapping stories last spring when we were told by all on the left and some on the right that there is no way that our intelligence agencies would wire a President-elect or President or anyone in or involved in his campaign.
Remember they thought that anyone who may have pondered that our intelligence agencies or President Obama had wiretapped the President-elect or President, were crazy conspiracy theory nuts and loons?
Well it appears the conspiracy theory nuts and loons were not so nutty and looney, were they. Now more evidence is needed to determine how correct President Trump was when he tweeted:
"Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"
And
"I was "wire tapped"
But if it is proven that the intelligence community under Obama was wiretapping President Trump or his campaign manager and then lying to us all by saying that it never happened, then we have a problem a real big problem.
Do you remember all the newspapers and news organizations that also touted that President Trump was nuts for making those tweets, well apparently he might not have been either.
Under normal circumstance these News organizations would have questioned and started to look into the Presidents claim and not just believe anything the intelligence agencies told them. Can anyone remember the Weapons of Mass Destruction determination by these same intelligence agencies and the same news organizations telling us then that the intelligence agencies were not to be trusted.
Unfortunately we live in a day and age when these News institutions are corrupted, thoroughly corrupted. Now my concern is that our intelligence agency may be corrupted along with some of our politicians, surprise surprise.
So it comes to this question, why did so many top members of congress from both parties, as well as the intelligence agencies say that wiretapping or surveillance of President Trump or anyone involved with his campaign did not happen and there is no evidence to prove that it has?
These top members of congress have oversight duties of theses agencies and have the power and clearance to view said evidence, if there was any.
Were they not telling us the truth, essentially lying to us or did they truly not know. Well neither of those answers is a good one.
Either the intelligence agencies are working under no oversight by our elected officials or these top members of congress who are supposed to have access to this information are working with the intelligence agencies to mislead and well let’s just say it, lie to the American people.
Now we must remember that many questions still remain unanswered. The Justice Department itself, in a recent court filing, said the DOJ and FBI did not have evidence of any Trump Tower surveillance during the election.
The question once again is did they have evidence and just not tell us the truth or do they not have control over certain elements in their ranks.
