A water main break has made an intersection in the city of Battle Creek very slippery.

95.3 WBCK received reports Friday morning that a large amount of water had entered the intersection of Riverside and Briar Hill Drives, which quickly turned into a sheet of ice. By 9:40am Friday, the intersection had been salted and markers had been left in the snow.

The Battle Creek Department of Public Works tells 95.3 WBCK that the break was first reported late Thursday night, and that sometime before 11am Friday the main was quickly repaired. City officials say that the break occurred on Briar Hill, and that the water flowed downhill into the Riverside intersection.

The City says no boil water advisory was necessary.
