A Flint based PBS station, at Central Michigan University is going off the air. According to the Detroit Free Press, CMU sold the station for $14 million, through a Federal Communications Commission auction, last year. WCMZ-TV will go off the air on Monday. The university says it will use the money to fund three initiatives to provide scholarship money, academic and career advice and work opportunities for students. Officials say the station will shut down its transmitter and turn in their broadcast license.
