Does it not seem every month or so we hear about a student being suspended because they have a pocket knife or something similar in their possession on school grounds?

Well, I guess I should say, "Not all students."

You have got to be kidding me!  These school administrator are such hypocrites. How do they look themselves in the face when looking in a mirror?

The parents told school officials at the elementary school — yes, I said elementary — that their son would be carrying a Kirpan, which is a ceremonial dagger that baptized Sikhs are required by religious commandment to carry at all times.

The school officials replied, "No problem."

Apparently, followers of this religion are required to wear the Five Ks, or five “articles of faith,” on them at all times; the Kirpan is one of these items.

But do not worry — the Auburn Assistant Superintendent of Schools has things under control, as he watches out for the safety of the other children and teachers.

He stated, “The knife can’t come out. It can’t be shown around. It needs to be underneath their clothing. That allows them to express their religion without jeopardizing anyone’s feeling of safety.”

So, you must ask the question, "If pocket knives, steak knives and other sharp instruments really put other students at risk, the Kirpan would be much more dangerous, would it not?"

Now go a little deeper and think about this: If by allowing the student to carry the knife, the Auburn School District and their brilliant officials are inferring and acknowledging that it’s not the knife that’s dangerous.

Let's talk about it today on the Live with Renk Show Monday through Fridays 9 a.m. to noon.  Call me at 269-441-9595
