Say hello to Barney, this week's Wiggly Tail Wednesday pet of the week. Barney is another shelter transfer from Louisiana, who has come to Battle Creek via the articulation agreement the Humane Society of South Central Michigan has with shelters in that state.

Frankly, Barney's transfer to Michigan - as has been the case with other pets from Louisiana - may have saved his life.

Barney is thought to be a Heeler/Labrador Retriever mix. He was born in March 2016, and is a lovable and playful dog. He is about 40 pounds now, and may grow to as much as 60 pounds.

HSSCM recommends a dog to dog match-up when considering a new dog in a home where other dogs already live. In Barney's case, though, HSSCM suspects he'd be best as the only pet in the home. He enjoys individual attention which he may not want to share with another dog or cat.
