On a blustery winter day, all-white Dachshund-Chihuahua mix Mara showed up for her Wiggly Tail Wednesday close-up in a pretty pink coat, happy and ready to shine. And she did!

A transfer from another shelter, Mara is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and investigates her surroundings.

About a year old, Mara stands her ground - barking sometimes at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan when new folks visit, but that only seems to be an attention-getter. Once she has that attention, she works to make the most of it.

HSSCM is ready to perform a dog-to-dog match-up to see how well Mara interacts with the dogs currently in your home. It is expected that she will thrive in a home with older children and a fenced-in yard.
