This week's Wiggly Tail Wednesday featured pet is Peaches, whom you might think - with a name like that - might come from Georgia! But no, Peaches is actually the latest addition to the group at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan from Louisiana.

A special agreement with shelters in Louisiana has allowed for HSSCM to bring pets from the Bayou to Battle Creek, as space allows. An overpopulation of adoptable pets on the Gulf Coast has prompted the agreement.

Peaches is likely a Beagle mix with plenty of energy and - most important - a very happy girl! She likes to meet new people and show her affection. She will also thrive in an environment with a lot of walks and a fenced yard. Peaches would appear to get along well with male dogs and, most likely, cats.

Peaches was treated for Heartworm, which was successful, and she has recovered nicely.
