The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 6pm Friday for the several southwest Michigan counties. Frequent gusts from the west are expected - and had already begun early Friday - around 40mph. The Weather Service advisory cautions people to watch for blowing debris and potential  downed power lines and tree limbs.

The National Weather Service forecast for the weekend in Battle Creek shows calming winds, rising temperatures into the 60's and some sunshine at times. High temperatures for the coming week are forecast to be in the 60's every day.
