Last night we had news that there were some potensially dangerous storms that were going to be rolling through the northern part of the Lower Peninsula. As daunting as it seemed, one woman from Charlevoix wanted to get a shot of some of the spectacular sites this particular storm was delivering.

As dangerous as these storms can be, it's why I love lightning and thunder storms. They provide some of the most beautiful sounds and sights; and in the chaos, provide a strange sense of comfort. At one point yesterday the severe storm threat expanded to nearly every square mile of the state. Kalamazoo's weather was most intense at around 2 a.m. this morning with no real threat coming to the city. Most meteorologists were expecting tornado watches for the U.P and upper L.P.
