Calhoun County authorities are investigating after a woman was left injured on the side of the road following an apparent argument.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that they responded to the scene near the intersection of 24th St. and Kirkwood Ave. in the City of Springfield, around 4pm Sunday. A 25-year-old woman from East Leroy was found on the side of the road, unconscious; she was taken to be treated for serious injuries at Bronson Kalamazoo.

Deputies say that the woman had been in an argument while a passenger in a moving vehicle, and that she might have jumped from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stopped and attempted to help the woman. That driver, a 25-year-old East Leroy man, was taken to the Calhoun County Jail for having an operator's license violation.

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about this incident to get in contact with them, either by calling them directly, or by contacting Silent Observer anonymously.
