Woman Mauled by Dog in Battle Creek

A Battle Creek woman was taken to the hospital with severe injuries yesterday when a dog attacked her.  The victim was walking on Spring Street at around 9am when the animal, which was tied to a small tree in a yard, broke the tree in half and attacked, biting her multiple times on the abdomen.  The owner of the dog was eventually able to pull it off and get it into the house; it was later turned over to animal control.  The owner has been cited by Police already but the case has also been sent to the City Attorney’s office for review.
