Woman Stabbed At Lakeview Square Mall

A 67-year-old woman was stabbed during an armed robbery in the parking-lot of the Lakeview Square Mall, around 9:30 AM Friday morning.

Battle Creek Police report that the woman was approached by a suspect, armed with a knife, near Barnes and Noble. The man demanded the victims purse, threatening her with the knife, and the woman struggled with him, while holding her purse. The thief then stabbed the victim in the abdomen and ran with her purse. He was seen getting into a forest green, older model, Toyota Camry that fled eastbound on Beckley Road.

The woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 20’s, around 6’ 2” tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black hat and a green jacket.

The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Battle Creek Police, or Silent Observer.
