Blowing snow likely was the cause of a rollover crash in eastern Calhoun County Friday afternoon.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that around 2pm Friday, deputies responded to a rural stretch of 18 ½ Mile Rd. in Marengo Township. There, they found a 22-year-old female driver from Olivet, her car flipped onto its roof.

Investigation shows that the driver lost control due to snow blowing onto the road, causing her vehicle to leave the road and flip. The driver was taken to the hospital in Marshall with non-life threatening injuries to her head.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people to be extra careful of slippery conditions on rural roads, as plow and salt trucks take longer to get to them.
