Kendall Street in Battle Creek will be getting a face lift this week, starting on Tuesday.

The city’s contractor, Lakeland Asphalt, will begin work on South Kendall Streetm  between Dickman Road and West Michigan Avenue.

Lakeland Asphalt will begin the process of removing sidewalk ramps and milling/paving  Once the sidewalk ramp and curb work is complete, milling and paving will begin.

Work will take place from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Paving is expected to be complete by Saturday, Sept. 15, weather permitting.

If you're planning to have lunch at the FireHub, or have business at the City's Public Works department, don't worry.   The city says Kendall Street will remain open to vehicles and pedestrians; however, it is strongly advised that motorists seek alternate routes.  Motorists are advised to exercise caution around railroad tracks and to obey all flaggers and signs in the work zone.
