Young Man Killed In Battle Creek Shooting Wednesday

The Battle Creek Police Department is now investigating a fatal shooting that took place late Wednesday night.

The BCPD says that they were called to Rambling Ln. on Battle Creek’s south side just before 11pm Wednesday, to find a 22-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound. The investigation is still in the preliminary stages, but police say it appears the victim had been inside his residence with a roommate and another friend, when a fourth person entered and fatally shot him with his own gun before fleeing.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20's to early 30's, wearing a dark Nike hoodie. Police say that he left the scene on foot, and that a k-9 track was unsuccessful. This is the third gun related crime on Battle Creek’s south side in the past four days, and the second at the Arbors of Battle Creek.
