We are almost a week from the official start of our High School Football broadcasts for the 2017 season. All the area teams are gearing up in what should be another exciting season on the gridiron.

Most of this year's changes for the schools are in the area, as Athens shifts to the South Central Athletic Association and Bronson filling the void left behind in the Big 8.

Among the 8-Man squads, the Southern Michigan 8-Man League is a full eight teams. Bellevue joins the conference for their first year in 8-Man, along with North Adams-Jerome (another first year team) and Camden-Frontier after playing an independent schedule last year. St. Philip has won the conference title last four seasons. It will also the first time since 2013 that the conference has had eight teams.

Of course nothing has changed here, as Jim Hughes and I will be back in the booth for the third year together. There are several games on the docket that should be fantastic battles for the city squads. Here's our current schedule, with games subject to change. Broadcast times are 6:35pm unless noted.
