The first visit to Michigan from a high-profile candidate in the 2020 race for President in the Democratic party is happening next week. FOX 17 reports that Kirsten Gillibrand will be at a meet-and-greet event on Monday in Oakland County.

Gillibrand, a U.S. Senator from New York, will reportedly join Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer at an event hosted by 'Fems for Dems' in Clawson, in suburban Detroit. Before the event, She is scheduled to appear at a town hall event in Auburn Hills that will be hosted by MSNBC.

Gillibrand endorsed Whitmer for Governor last year before the primary election and also campaigned for her before the November election. Whitmer has encouraged all Democratic presidential candidates to make Michigan a part of their stops ahead of the 2020 Presidential election in which one of them will in all likelihood face off against President Donald Trump who will be seeking a second term in office.
