46-Year-Old Turtle Reunited With Her Michigan Owner – The Good News

Yes, you read that correctly - a 46-year-old turtle.

Her name is Churchy, and she escaped from her backyard enclosure in Rochester Hills last week. A driver found her in the road and released her at a nearby park, not knowing that she was somebody's pet.

Churchy is a river cooter (yes, that's a real type of turtle) and Joanne Wismer, her owner, was offering a cash reward for her return.

Luckily, a kayaker found Churchy over the weekend. Said kayaker also happens to be friends with Joanne, so it's likely that they were already looking for her.

Such a sweet reunion!
