The famous 'Rock' at Michigan State University was painted after Larry Nassar was sentenced to 40-175 years in prison in support of his victims.

The sentencing for Dr. Nassar came down swift and with a verbal tongue lashing from Judge Rosemarie Aquilina on Wednesday, saying "I just signed your death Warrant". A day after court was adjourned, MSU students, family and community members painted The Rock that sits famously on campus and was shared on Facebook.

The Rock can be painted on by anyone, and is used for anything from birthday wishes and marriage proposals to political statements. The Rock is also a hot spot for rival universities to paint. As a result, during football and basketball season MSU students often camp next to the Rock to protect it.

One of the most memorable moments came after the September 11 attacks in New York, until now. In this short video, you can read the names of Nassar's victims.

Painting The Rock is an MSU tradition as seen in this video.
