The first members of the 2017 Battle Creek Bombers roster was announced on Thursday, with a set of brothers making their way to the Cereal City.

The Bombers announced that they will have junior pitcher Jake Hawken and sophomore outfielder Cody Hawken on the squad this summer. The Vancouver, Washington, natives both are members of the University of Portland baseball squad.

The older Jake tossed 22 2/3 innings in 19 relief appearances for the Pilots last season with a 4.76 ERA his sophomore year. His ERA declined by two-earned runs from his freshman year.

The younger Cody played and started all 35 games for the Pilots in his first season of college play. He was also the Washington State Gatorade Player of the Year his senior year of high school, batting .464 with eight homers and 31 RBIs.
