The Detroit Free-Press is reporting that the man who coined the "Pizza Pizza" slogan for Little Caesars has died. Fred Yaffe was 86.

Yaffe worked with many Michigan and national accounts, including Art Van Furniture, and ABC Warehouse, but he is credited with coming up with "Pizza Pizza" in 1979. That slogan and campaign ran for approximately twenty years before being phased out in the early 200's, and being replaced with "Hot and Ready".

For his clients, Fred believed that helping them succeed went beyond just their marketing. He became immersed in their business and looked for ways to make their business better - whether it was a marketing solution, a business solution or something completely out of the box.

The obituary goes on to say that Yaffe "was an industry leader who helped the Detroit ad industry become what it is today. But he was entrepreneur beyond running his own agencies, investing in everything from quick service restaurants to elevator jack hole drilling."
