Albion Fire Department Alerts Residents To Fire In Home

Residents inside a home that was ablaze had no idea until the Albion Fire Department arrived to extinguish the blaze.

Albion Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 800 block of North Eaton Street at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. A passerby had noticed smoke coming from a second floor window and called 911.

When crews arrived they alerted the residents inside the home, who had been unaware, and were quickly evacuated. Crews were able to contain the fire to just a couple rooms on the second floor.

There were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire and extent of the damage is unknown.

The Albion Department of Public Safety was assisted by the Sheridan Township Fire Department.
