An Ohio man who allegedly vandalized a hotel and attacked its employees with a fire extinguisher was arrested Tuesday night in Calhoun County.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called around 9:34pm Tuesday to the Days Inn in the 27,000 block of Sheridan Township, on reports of a disorderly and intoxicated person. By the time deputies arrived, bystanders had restrained a 57-year-old Findalay, Ohio man in the parking lot, and the man was taken into custody.

Investigation shows that the man, who has family in the Albion area, had sprayed the fire extinguisher throughout the hotel, and also sprayed it at two employees. He then allegedly went to the parking lot and began hitting vehicles with it before he was restrained.

One 69-year-old employee had to be taken to the hospital for minor respiratory injuries, while the other employee who was assaulted was not hospitalized.

The suspect in this case was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on felonious assault charges; it was also found that he had outstanding warrants against him, for charges of arson and interfering with a 911 call.
