American Pride Day Canceled

You read that title correctly.  A High School, Jackson Hole, in the State of Wyoming canceled their homecoming tradition of American Pride Day.

Why did the administrators cancel American Pride Day?

Activities Director Mike Hansen’s was quoted in an article in the Jackson Hole Daily saying “Many different students could have felt singled out, maybe they moved here last week. Maybe they moved here last month.”

Meaning some immigrant students could feel unhappy and left out.

Is this America or not?

Did these immigrants come here to be American or for some other reason?

The good news though is the students did not take it sitting down.

According to the article many of the students protested the cancelation of American Pride Day by “wrapping American flags around their shoulders, sporting shorts with stars and stripes and even driving a diesel truck around the parking lot waving American flags after school.”

Good for them.

Their parents showed their support of them by going to social media to support the students civilly disobedient and call out the school’s “political correctness.”

The administrator said he had met with the student council and heard comments that a number of students didn’t feel American and felt “targeted and singled out by this day.”

This is just another example of the tone set by our President which has permeated our culture and society.
