More work begins on Capital Avenue in Battle Creek next week, but it won't be nearly the headache that this week's project was at Capital and Columbia. On Monday, a traffic signal replacement project will get underway at the Capital Avenue and Jackson Street intersection downtown. The project is expected to be completed by September.

J. Ranck Electric will begin the process of replacing the traffic signal mast arms at the intersection. The city says at times the contractor will need to close some lanes which could cause a few backups at times. Also, pedestrians are advised that the sidewalks at the intersection will be closed for the duration of the work.  A detour will be provided for foot traffic.
